NKAT Pre Team Programs

North Kent Aquatic Team is excited to offer two Pre-Team options for developing swimmers: Our Cubs Camp and our Learn the Strokes Camp! Please look over the Camp information below for your selection. Program assessment and registration information can be found at the bottom of the page.

Learn the Strokes Camp

The Learn the Strokes Camp is a true entry-level instructional swim program, based on the American Red Cross water safety and swim instruction program for young swimmers and children ages 3-6 and 6-14.

Cubs Camp

The Cubs Camp is a developmental swim program for young swimmers ages 5-12 that bridges swimmers from Learn-to-Swim and Learn the Strokes programs and our NKAT Swim Club. Each Cubs session lasts 6-7 weeks.

The Cubs program focuses on smaller swimmer-to-coach ratios. The practices focus on the four competitive strokes, starts, finishes, race strategy and water safety.

All Cubs Swimmers are eligible to join NKAT Swimming once they are proficient in three competitive strokes and have efficiency in the fourth.

How Do You Become a Cubs Member?

If your swimmer would like to be a member of our Cubs Camp, he or she must come to a swim evaluation held at Northview High School. The evaluation allows our coaching staff to assess present skill level and align interested athletes in the correct placement following assessment.
